Investment management is at a crossroad. The 2008 crisis together with renewed sovereign debt concerns and deep geopolitical transformations call into question and indeed shatter a number of commonly held investment management assumptions and practices. Thought leadership is called for, to restore trust in the profession and to create real value for investors. Dr. Ballocchi will examine a few key opportunities in this regard, along with structural obstacles. He will also critique risk management practices that paradoxically can lead to risk exacerbation.
