Meryem Akyol-Yölek from Austria and Anton Zschinschky from Germany have been awarded this year’s LGT University Scholarship. Both impressed the selection committee with their excellent academic performance, strong social commitment, and exceptional dedication.

On 16 September 2026, renowned Swiss structural engineer Jürg Conzett gave a public lecture at the Liechtenstein School of Architecture. He is particularly known for his bridge designs, including the Traversiner Stege in the Viamala Gorge.

Gabriela Dimitrova has successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the Liechtenstein School of Architecture. In «The Reusable Brick. Construction Principles of Circular Building in Historical Patents (1860–1960)», she examines historical approaches to modular and mortarless construction and their potential for today’s circular economy.

How can transdisciplinary projects carried out by architecture and design students as part of their studies create a lasting impact on society? This question is at the heart of the international Erasmus+ project «Impact of Transdisciplinary and Transformative Teaching (ITTT)», led by the University of Liechtenstein and running from February 2026 to January 2028.

The ZirkuLIE platform for circular and sustainable construction in Liechtenstein is continuing its work as an independent, non profit association following three years of development. Prof. Dr Daniel Stockhammer from the Liechtenstein School of Architecture has also joined the association’s board.  

As part of the Erasmus+ project SocioEcoHoods, students from the University of Liechtenstein worked alongside students from the Bergen School of Architecture and the University of Genoa in two international workshops examining housing conditions in the area surrounding the University of Liechtenstein. The workshops focused on affordable housing, housing insecurity and potential strategies for future development.

How can defective everyday objects be not only repaired but also transformed through design? This question was explored by Master's students at the Liechtenstein School of Architecture in the elective module «Upcycling», which is part of the Built Heritage & Circularity Unit led by Prof. Dr. Daniel Stockhammer. The module was taught by Simon Egger and Pascal Gnädinger.
