Policies and procedures to counter the problem of plagiarism. Plagiarism is increasingly a problem in university education and this talk will identify the reasons why this is so, define and classify different types, suggest policies to prevent plagiarism, and discuss appropriate penalties. It will include a discussion of automatic detection systems, how and when to use them, and a cost-benefit analysis.
