- Hans van der Heijden (The Hague, 1963) practices in Amsterdam. He studied architecture and urbanism at the Technical University Delft and works on housebuilding, urban design and cultural assignments. The urban renewal projects for Hessenberg in Nijmegen, Lakerlopen in Eindhoven and the Bluecoat arts centre in Liverpool were nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award. His publications include the books Architecture in the Fractured City, Habitat and Post Piraeus, About the Building Site and the City and architectural reviews in the Netherlands and abroad. Hans van der Heijden was editor of the Dutch Architecture Yearbook and visiting professor at the University of Cambridge.
