Process ManagementDescription
The management of business processes is a challenging task for every process manager as every process has its own characteristics and specific requirements. One-size-fits-all approaches are only of limited value. However, research in the field of business process management (BPM) often underestimates the nature of the process when creating maturity models, proposing success factors or management practices. The PhD thesis aims at addressing this gap by developing a framework for differentiating between different types of processes. Through a literature review, qualitative interviews as well as quantitative studies, the different characteristics of processes shall be derived as well as corresponding management practices. This should contribute to a more comprehensive view of processes in BPM research on the one hand and to a more efficient and effective management of business processes on the other hand.Reference to Liechtenstein
