Together with a company from Liechtenstein, members of the Institute of Information Systems developed a method for early integration of users in the process of implementing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. A step-by-step training procedure and customized training units led to a high acceptance of the new system from the outset. In addition, a software solution for archiving transaction data was developed, as it was not possible to migrate all transaction data from the legacy system to the new system due to different data models. The new application was developed by Bachelor's students in a project seminar. The software solution was customized to the requirements of the case company and, following the principles of agile software development, developed further in several iterations.
