Originating in common law, trusts are foreign to continental European jurisdictions. In practice, Liechtenstein's position is counter-cyclical to the international trend: the trust is gaining in importance worldwide, but declining in use in Liechtenstein. This is attributable to legal uncertainty, because trust law is isolated within the Liechtenstein legal system. Since trusts are foreign to continental Europe, countries with practical experience must be examined. The project aims at reviewing sources in typical trust law jurisdictions of practical relevance to the Liechtenstein market. Thus, laying the foundation for a knowledge pool in respect of trust law specifically tailored to Liechtenstein's requirements.Reference to Liechtenstein
