Workshop on the topic of sustainability

 
On 7 September 2011, three professors from South Korea visited the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein.

 
Following a lively exchange of knowledge over lunch, the visitors participated in a workshop on the topic of “green IT”, which was held by Dr. Stefan Seidel. Among others, Professor Chulmo Choo from Chosun University in South Korea presented a current research project examining factors that influence the use of IT as it relates to environmentally sustainable actions (green IT). In addition, the Green IT Balanced Scorecard was discussed as a strategic IT-management instrument enabling a systematic orientation of IT and business strategies within the context of ecological sustainability, thus providing competitive advantages.

 
The role of IT in the development of sustainable organizations is one of the core research areas of the Institute of Information Systems.
