This should make it very much easier for journalists to contact an academic expert in the course of their researches. On 25 February 2015 the new media portal of the University of Liechtenstein went live with a comprehensive overview of experts. This should make it very much easier for journalists to contact an academic expert in the course of their researches. Interested enquirers from business, politics and society at large will also find it an easy matter in future to get directly in touch with the person they need to talk to.
This expert search facility makes available the knowledge of more than 38 academic specialists of the University of Liechtenstein, as a valuable resource for supplying journalists’ articles with thorough background knowledge. The thematic areas covered include architecture, finance, IT and the social sciences as well as business studies and information systems. Taken altogether, the University of Liechtenstein tool (to be found at www.uni.li/expertenvermittlung) offers access to expert knowledge on 190 different topics.

Stefan Güldenberg, holder of the Chair of International Management and a knowledge management expert, supports the institution of this new service for journalists. He comments: ‘In today’s society, it is no longer capital but knowledge that is at a premium. This means that speedy access to an expert is a crucial factor for success.’

In addition to offering access to experts, the new media portal of the University of Liechtenstein also includes an overview of all press releases and publications. The Annual Report, for example, offers an exciting view of the development and successful achievements of this young university with regional roots and international influence. And the new scientific magazine ‘Denkraum’ [‘Thinking Space’] showcases the entrepreneurial and academic innovations of the University of Liechtenstein for the Alpine Rhine Valley and Lake Constance region.
