A networking and information platform for companies and students in the region:

The University of Liechtenstein’s START Liechtenstein initiative extends an invitation to the Pioneers’ Club on the Vaduz campus on 10 May 2013 from 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The focus of the event will be on the topic of “Starting a business while studying”.

The series of events is aimed at companies, students and interested parties. The next event will feature Christopher Waldner and Dennis Kirpensteijn. Together, they founded the company “Vetizin” while they were students.

Every third household in the German-speaking world is home to a pet. In the course of the increasing anthropomorphization of their four-legged friends, pet-owners’ needs are becoming ever more diverse, and the market is growing rapidly. This is why Vetizin develops online services for pet owners and vets. The company now has five full-time employees working on its projects. The website www.tierheimhelden.de in particular has been the subject of much recent media attention. This charitable platform makes it easier for animal lovers to find a pet at a rescue centre. It also allows users to donate to, as well as sponsor, rescue centres. The platform www.vetstage.de, a job board for vets, has also become popular in the industry.

In a talk titled “Tiermedizin 2.0 – Gründen während des Studiums” (“Veterinary medicine 2.0 – starting a business while studying”), the two company founders from Bavaria will provide insights into the potential of the pet market, their vision and what they have learned from starting a business whilst still studying. During the panel discussion with the audience and at the subsequent drinks reception, participants and speakers will have the opportunity to exchange ideas.

The Pioneers’ Club by START Liechtenstein

At the Pioneers’ Club events, entrepreneurs and investors discuss their experiences related to founding companies and answer questions from participants. The idea of the Pioneers’ Club is to bring together entrepreneurs and students, plus other interested parties, and this forms part of the core expertise of the programmes offered by the START organizations (St. Gallen, Munich, Nuremberg-Erlangen and Lausanne). START Liechtenstein enjoys the benefit of the innovative entrepreneurial spirit in the Rhine Valley region. Supported and initiated by students, START’s aim is to promote entrepreneurial initiatives at European universities. Alongside students, lecturers and researchers, the network consists of entrepreneurs, politicians and other experts.
