The Institute of Information Systems and Liechtensteinische Post AG are to present the results of a joint study on the digitalization of postal traffic at the University of Liechtenstein on 16 February 2012.
Digitalization is having an ever greater impact on our personal and professional lives, and postal traffic also stands to benefit from this development. The digitalization of business documents and their electronic transmission and archival is just one of many examples. The use of innovative technologies calls not only for economic considerations, however – factors such as security and acceptance are equally significant in connection with information and communication services.
Innovative solutions of digitalization
Based on these aspects, Liechtensteinische Post AG and the University of Liechtenstein have spent the last three months carrying out a joint study on the digital processing and forwarding of incoming mail, with the aim of investigating the economic potential of digitalizing postal traffic for companies in our region. What are the potential benefits of digitalizing incoming mail? What are the risks? What are the specific requirements of individual companies? What form would innovative organizational and technical solutions take?
On Thursday, 16 February 2012, at 5 p.m., Dr. Oliver Müller, assistant professor at the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management, will present the results of the study from the perspective of the University of Liechtenstein, while Bernhard Elkuch will summarize the results from the perspective of Liechtensteinische Post AG and present possible solutions for the future. In a subsequent discussion and at the following drinks reception, participants will be given the opportunity to talk in greater detail to the experts of the Institute of Information Systems about the topic at hand. The event is open to interested parties, and entry is free. Please register under iwi@uni.li by 14 February.
