For companies, business process management (BPM) is often linked with large investments in IT systems and process analyses. The success of BPM initiatives is heavily dependent on the cultural readiness of companies for process management. In the article “Cultural Fitness for Business Process Management”, a model is introduced which should help in the understanding of the role of culture in the management of business processes. In addition, an assessment tool is described which is intended to help in the investigation of the support stage of the corporate culture for BPM.
