In the scope of the «On the Make» lecture series of the Institute of Architecture and Planning, the artist and publisher Dino Simonett will be visiting the University of Liechtenstein on 18 April 2012.
In the 2012 summer semester, the regularly held architectural lecture series forms a platform for interdisciplinary encounters between architecture and related disciplines. The invited artists, photographers, curators and publishers, who all operate successfully on an international level, create parallels between their work and the process of creation in architecture. Following on from the first lecture held by the Bosnian-French artist Bojan Šarčević in cooperation with the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, the Graubünden artist and publisher Dino Simonett will be holding a lecture entitled «Publishing and Building – a Symbiosis». The event will be held in English on Wednesday, 18 April 2012, from 6 p.m., in the University of Liechtenstein’s auditorium. Entry is free.
Sophisticated Art Books in Splendid Beauty
The publication of his Sophisticated Art Books added to Dino Simonett’s growing acclaim. At the early age of 14, he had released his first art magazine entitled Quer, of which 13 issues were published. Dino Simonett studied film at the German Film and Television Academy (DFFB) in Berlin and at Columbia University in New York. In 1997, he founded Edition Dino Simonett and has been publishing photo and art books ever since. His list of authors includes well-known personalities such as Magnum photographer René Burri or the film-maker Daniel Schmid. In addition, he sells original photos from his artists, as well as home accessories and book satchels made from goatskin, cowhide or felt. Among other awards, Dino Simonett received the «Kulturförderungspreis» of the canton of Graubünden, the jury prize at the Zarautz film festival and, on five occasions, the prize for «The most beautiful Swiss books».
