The cross-border Business-Plan Competition is carried out jointly by the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the University of Liechtenstein and the NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik in Buchs. This year’s competition stood out thanks to the variety of business ideas from numerous different sectors, such as jewellery and crafts, trade and marketing, tourism and gastronomy, as well as social entrepreneurship.

The five-person jury of experts, led by jury president Fritz Fahrni, Professor Emeritus at ETH Zurich and the University of St. Gallen, evaluated the submitted business plans to select the three most promising ones. During the awards ceremony on Tuesday evening, the three winners were awarded with prize money ranging from CHF 5,000 to CHF 12,000.

The first prize of CHF 12,000 was awarded by Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Thomas Zwiefelhofer to the project “Hoi – Laden für Heimatgefühl” (Hoi – Store for Regional Flair). In their business plan, Cornelia Wolf, Sanel Batliner and Florian Batliner developed a concept for Liechtenstein souvenirs and gift items with regional flair, which stand out thanks to their originality, high-quality workmanship and local context.
