Following the University of Liechtenstein’s achievement of second place in the 2009 ranking of entrepreneurial education in Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland, the young university now demonstrates that it also belongs among the best German-speaking science institutions in the area of research, occupying a pleasing seventh place.

In an article in a recent issue of Zeitschrift für KMU und Entrepreneurship, Papagiannidis et al. rated the current research achievements of German-speaking entrepreneurial research on the basis of two business economics rankings (VHB JQ2.1 and WU Vienna Ranking 2006). They also created a list of the top 20 best public entrepreneurship colleges in the four German-speaking countries Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Liechtenstein.

Important ranking for international positioning
In this ranking, the University of Liechtenstein occupies a noteworthy seventh place. The ranking is topped by the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria), Saarland University (Germany) and the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). The institutions were assessed by the research output of their scholars involved in the fields of entrepreneurship and SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises). At the University of Liechtenstein, this includes the professors, lecturers and doctoral students conducting research at the Institute for Entrepreneurship. Thus, once again, the teams headed by Professors Baldegger, Güldenberg and Marxt impressively demonstrate that the specialist area of entrepreneurship offers an international competitive advantage to the University of Liechtenstein.
