Since 1 October 2016 the University of Liechtenstein has had a new President: Jürgen Brücker D. Ec. is the successor to Klaus Näscher, who has reached retirement age.
Jürgen Brücker was formerly a member of the President's Board and Management Board of the University of St. Gallen (HSG). As Dean of External Relations and Development at the University of St. Gallen, his responsibilities included managing regional and international networks as well as university development.
Dr Brücker obtained his doctorate in Economics from the University of St. Gallen, after he had previously completed a technical training. The new Rector of the University of Liechtenstein holds dual Swiss-German citizenship. He is married and has three children.
