In a new project by the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein and the Liechtensteinisches LandesMuseum, digital snapshots and written contributions relating to Liechtenstein are being collected and displayed on screens at the museum.
Hundreds of Liechtenstein residents document their lives in words and images on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the like. Visitors from other countries also record their impressions using smartphones, and share them in social networks. These posts are our modern way of documenting the events we experience.
This project, entitled “Liechtenstein Moments”, will be launched on 25 July. From this point onwards, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will be searched in real time for publicly accessible content with keywords such as “Liechtenstein”, “Vaduz” and “Förschtafäscht”, and displayed at the Liechtensteinisches LandesMuseum.
Project manager Dr. Oliver Müller of the Institute of Information Systems is looking forward to seeing the results: “I find it particularly interesting to see how far the content collected will reflect the situations of everyday life in Liechtenstein, such as holiday periods or the change of the seasons.” |
“We are very curious to see which snapshots find their way to us. Everyone now has the opportunity to contribute their perspective and help to present a diverse range of impressions of Liechtenstein,” states Professor Rainer Vollkommer, Director of the Liechtensteinisches LandesMuseum. |
“Liechtenstein Moments” is already the third project run jointly by the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein and the Liechtensteinisches LandesMuseum. Following the ideas competition “Du bisch dra” (It’s your turn!) and the augmented-reality application in connection with the “Matheliebe” (Love of maths) exhibition, anyone who is interested can now contribute their very personal “Liechtenstein Moment” to the exhibition.
