Description
The course starts with an exam in the first session.

A copy of these chapters is available in the library as reference copy in the key text shelf (Semesterapparat)
Make sure to bring a laptop with access to the moodle forum of the course.
The course focuses on enterprise systems (ES), which are large-scale application software packages that support end-to-end processes, information and document flow, several kinds of reporting, and data analytics in different kinds of organizations.

- Customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Supply chain management (SCM) systems

- Case study: Enterprise processes in SAP
Qualifications
- describe the fundamental concepts and definitions in the area of enterprise systems, especially application systems like ERP, CRM, and SCM systems,
- understand the benefits of integrated enterprise systems for sustainable competitive advantage. They describe the relevance of enterprise systems for process integration along the value chain,
- solve assignments in the field of enterprise systems, especially case studies in the areas of manufacturing and service delivery,
- identify relationships between different types of application systems. They compare solutions with regard to their value contribution,
- describe and model an implementation process for the successful adoption of an enterprise system, and
- evaluate and select suitable software solutions for organizations. They classify different solutions according to complex evaluation schemes and develop a thorough argumentation for the decision process.
- summarize the contents of the case study they are provided with,
- discuss the case study in the light of existing models and theories,
- solve different assignments in the case study with the help of different methods,
- compare the as-is situation described in the case study and identify possible solutions for improvement,
- develop new strategies for a successful implementation of an enterprise system for the case study,, and
- evaluate different solutions regarding their value contribution and sustainability.
Lectures Method
The module integrates theoretical knowledge and practical skills based on an interactive lecture that includes teaching cases.
The e-learning platform Moodle will be used throughout the course for the dissemination of course material and discussions.

Exam Modalities
- Please check examination details. Attendance is mandatory in this course.
- Evaluation of exams should take no longer than six weeks.
- The written exam is split up in an entry exam (30 points) and a final exam (60 points). Overall a minimum of 45 points must be achieved to pass the written exam part.
