Description
In the module Topics in IS Research students write and present a seminar paper on a contemporary IS-related topic.
In this years’ module, students can choose a specific topic from two main topic areas:
1) Social Media
2) Software Engineering
Qualifications
- understand a contemporary topic in IS-related research
- explain how that topic relates to the field of information systems (IS) research and business process management (BPM)
- explain the academic and practical relevance of the topic
- review the literature on a specific IS-related topic
- develop the structure of a seminar paper
- write a seminar paper
- present a seminar paper
Lectures Method
The module consists of a seminar where students improve their skills in writing academic papers and in giving presentations.
The e-learning platform Moodle will be used throughout the course for the dissemination of course material and discussions.

Literature
The students will be provided with slides and supporting materials throughout the course. However, a literature review is an integral part of the seminar.
