Bachelor's degree programme in Architecture (01.09.2008)Description
- Interdisciplinary approach; in tandem with Art History 1, that outlines the development of the notion of space and spatial visualization from renaissance to the present, various means of spatial visualization and representation are explored.
Lecture Goals
Drawing and reconstruction of architectural spaces and landscapes is practiced by employing various methods, materials and dimensions. The aim is to gradually develop the process from simple to complex elements, from real-life to abstract interpretations and to record the steps in a sketchbook.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course each student should have the ability to demonstrate and/or work with:
- improved perception as a result of sketches prepared by various means.
- understanding of various types of spatial representation (perspectives, axometry, isometry).
- a wide repertoire of spatial representation techniques.
- familiarity with the basic principles of figure drawing.
- demonstrate the ability to work independently and target-oriented at the studio.
- the ability to present their work critically and place it into a wider context.
- the ability to link digital and analog images.

Admission Requirements
The modules of the Bachelor's program in architecture are structured consecutively (they build on each other).
- It is recommended to take the module Theory I prior to enrolling this course.

Assessment
The course has to be passed with a sufficient grade (minimum grade of 4.0).
The module grade will be determined from the weighted average of the single course grades:
