Content
On 20 June 2012, an act reforming inheritance law was passed in a parliamentary session. This act no only makes long overdue modifications to the received Austrian model, but in particular also reforms the law governing inheritance between spouses or registered partners and the contract of inheritance. The law governing inheritance between spouses or registered partners has been extended, and the rights of forced heirship have been further secured. The use of the contract of inheritance as an instrument to organise one's affairs is no longer restricted only to spouses and registered partners; it is now available to everyone. The main focus of this event will be place on the law governing inheritance between spouses as well as the contract of inheritance.
Target Audience
Lawyers, trustees, employees in banks, insurance companies and financial service providers, as well as any people interested in specifically gaining an understanding of diverse legal issues.
