Beschreibung
Information Technology (IT) has changed the economic and social relations in the Information Age.
This course focuses on the role of IT in international economics and its impact on modern society. It covers topics including IT as a factor in global economic activities, the IT revolution, the new economy, and the emergence of the network society.
Ziele
This course aims at
- understanding the role of IT in international economic and social relations
- applying basic international economics to IT-related phenomena
- critically evaluating discussions on the role of IT in the Information Age

Prüfungsmodalitäten
- Written term paper of 50.000 to 100.000 characters including blanks (about 25-30 pages) dealing with topics evidently related to issues of international economics and politics. Students can write individual term papers or in a team of two persons (70% of total assessment). Please be aware that the term paper has to fulfill all requirements defined by the "Standards of Scientific Writing" of the University of Liechtenstein as published in December 2013. The Standards are available at the Moodle Forum.
- Presentation (12 minutes) and discussion of the term paper (30% of total assessment) at the final date of the course.
- Paper and slides for the presentation have to be handed in at least one week before the final presentation (one hard copy and one electronic version) to the lecturer.
