USA - SAN DIEGO

Arriving in San Diego three weeks before the start of my semester at San Diego State University (SDSU) has given me a unique opportunity to settle in and acclimate to the local culture. Coming from Liechtenstein, I didn’t expect a drastic cultural shift. However, I’ve found that even subtle differences can be striking and thought-provoking. One aspect of life here that has particularly caught my attention is the distinctive approach to work-life balance and leisure.

In Liechtenstein, there is a strong emphasis on efficiency and punctuality. These values are deeply ingrained in our daily routines, professional lives, and even in how we spend our leisure time. San Diego, on the other hand, offers a slightly more relaxed approach, particularly when it comes to blending work with leisure.
