Advanced Studio Landscape: AVERS - a place of regeneration

High up in the Alps lies municipality of Avers in the valley of the same name with about 170 inhabitants. The village Juf is with its altitude of 2126 meters the highest settlement where people live year-round. Together with the mayor and the community the studio looked at the needs of this remote place. Along the only road winding through the valley, students proposed many different programs from an elderly home to support the aging population, to a bio slaughterhouse, a sports store, and hotels to reinforce its economy and a chapel. The booklet, exhibition and presentation where enthusiastically received by the mayor and the inhabitants. They called it eye opening, visionary, and realistic at the same time.
