Abstract
Parking in mixed-residential areas provides a number of challenges; especially when it has to be handled in disperse spaces with highly varying parking demands and a number of interest groups. This paper presents results from a 14 months observation of parking behaviour around the University of Liechtenstein and introduces an initial concept of a mobile parking management system. Adoption and acceptance of such a system are questionable and we describe a deployment process which might reduce resistance towards a parking management system among different stakeholders. Main results from the survey show (a) very low overall parking load and (b) high parking loads are extremely rare.
