The first organized group trip of this semester with help from the international office took place Sunday the 11th of March. We were a group of 15 enthusiastic students who travelled by car and mini van southward with the destination of Therme Vals, designed by the architect Peter Zumthor. On the way to Vals we stopped in the picturesque town of Chur. The sun was shining and the town provided us with some stunning views to the mountains and of the local architecture. We visited the Rätisches museum in Chur. Located in the old part of town it was a good way of getting to know the history of the building and it´s surroundings.
On the way from Chur to Vals we made a quick stop in Flims to see the "Gelbes haus", designed by Valerio Olgiati.
The road from Flims to the Therme Vals was winding and narrow. Through the car window we could see small farming villages hanging on to the sides of the mountains.
Arriving in Vals, we couldn´t wait to see the Therme and to get into the hot water. We had about three hours of pure relaxation before heading back to Vaduz. It was an excellent sunday with an excellent group of people.
