Many different investment vehicles exist, and each is subject to greater or lesser regulation in the jurisdiction in which it takes place. Each one has its own risks and rewards. Even if each jurisdiction has introduced legal structures and regulations for alternative investments, there exists no common legal framework. The new Swiss Limited Partnership (SLP) is an attractive way to structure alternative investments for qualified investors. Dr. Oliver Thalmann gives an input on characteristics of the SLP and its practicability for qualified investors and investment managers.
