Artstor - Images for Education & Scholarship

Over two million digital images in the areas of art, architecture,
     humanities and social sciences

ARTstor Digital Library includes the Art History Survey Collection, the Hartill Archive of Architecture and Allied Arts, the MOMA Architecture and Design Collection, the Carnegie Arts of the U.S., and the Huntington Archive of Asian Arts. Included with each image is descriptive information such as title, creator, date, size, and current location. ARTstor also provides tools to create webpages, presentations, and study guides.

     to various areas of architecture and architectural design

Art & Architecture Source (EBSCO), providing over 600 full-text journals, more than 220 full-text books and a collection of over 63'000 images, is designed for use by a diverse audience, including art scholars, artists, designers, students and general researchers.

Each project described in DETAIL Inspiration database is accompanied by a DETAIL project document which can be downloaded as a PDF. The database content is expanded and updated with the release of each new issue of the magazine.

OnArchitecture's Audiovisual Archive for Institutions (via EBSCO) contains more than 250 portraits of buildings and videos of over 150 interviews with architects, artists and curators from around the world since 2007.  It offers a deep and detailed panorama of the world’s main authors, works, experiences and issues related to the field of architecture.

Database of over three million images covering all subject areas

Encyclopædia Britannica Online Image Quest makes available images from over 50 renowned sources such as Getty Images, National Geographic Society, The Times Picture Archive, Natural History Museum, The Granger Collection, Oxford Scientific (OSF), Royal Geographic Society, Bridgeman Art Library und National Portrait Gallery of London.
Each photo or illustration comes with complete metadata, including the source, the copyright holder, a caption, and keywords. 

You have access to right-cleared images, however, each of the publications in the non-commercial education sector includes the disseminator (i.e. the EncBrit, "The Source") and the "Copyright Holder". In particular, for third-party content provided by the EncBrit (e.g., many commercial image agencies, including Getty Images), © requires full ownership and citation.
