The new event series entitled «Solid SME KNOWLEDGE» addresses current challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises are confronted with in various stages of their development. The aim of the quarterly events is to provide background information and illustrate specific solutions. Entrepreneurs from the region will receive specific recommendations for action in practice. After the lectures, the speakers will be available for questions and discussions. The subsequent drinks reception will offer opportunities for active networking and the exchange of ideas.

Opening event on the future of SMEs
The opening event will cover competitive advantages on the national and international stage. Sustainable competitiveness is essential in order to prevail over competitors from home and abroad. Companies can only create competitive advantages if their strategies are clearly defined. The event will illustrate varying strategies to create and preserve competitive advantages for SMEs, from the differentiating strategy to the clear dissociation from competitors on to cost leadership, where mastery of processes and competitive costs lead to competitive advantages. The challenges of implementing this concept in high-wage regions such as the Rhine Valley will also be discussed.

At the opening event of the new series, Professor Christian Marxt will be discussing “The future of SMEs” as well as competitive advantages on the national and international stage.
