Both continuous improvements and radical innovations are core elements of successful business process management. In the digital age, it is particularly important to take an innovation-driven and value-oriented perspective on process management and to identify and evaluate the business potential of modern information and communication technology (e.g., big data analytics, social media, and cloud computing) for the design, implementation, and monitoring of business processes. Research, teaching, and transfer at the Institute of Information Systems take a holistic perspective on process management and consider not only technological and methodological aspects but also organisational and social aspects as success factors.
