First graduates complete the new programme at the University of Liechtenstein: On 25 May 2012, the first graduates of the Executive MBA in Entrepreneurial Management continuing education programme received their diplomas from the University of Liechtenstein after four semesters of study.
The Executive MBA in Entrepreneurial Management programme is directed at managers with a university degree or advanced professional qualification and at least six years’ professional experience, of which three years at managerial level. It is intended to prepare students to take on executive or senior management roles. In addition to the management functions of planning, organization, personnel management and controlling, participants also study the entrepreneurial functions of growth management, corporate entrepreneurship and corporate finance. The first 16 graduates of the new programme received their EMBA diplomas at a festive graduation ceremony held at the University of Liechtenstein on Friday, 25 May 2012.
Valuable input for managerial practice
Many students, such as Heidi Kirstein of Credit Suisse Zurich, consciously decided in favour of this programme because comparable courses require entire weekly blocks of absence. “This is not possible with my current workload,” she states. Emil Friedauer, an entrepreneur with over 15 years’ experience and owner of the IT and telecommunications service company All Systems in St. Gallen, also found that the programme provided valuable input: “In many practical areas I found confirmation of my existing approach, but there are also various valuable insights that make you think differently.” Marita Beck, Project Manager in the Office for Public Health at the Liechtenstein state administration in Vaduz, gained extensive business administration and managerial experience at a relatively young age after qualifying as a business economist: “The Executive MBA at the University of Liechtenstein has enabled me to reflect on my current experience in senior administration management and to progress personally.” As Head of the Natural Cheese Business Unit at the internationally active cheese trading company Rupp in Hörbranz, Daniel Marte is confronted with all possible kinds of decision-making situations. The Executive MBA programme provided him with a broad base of knowledge and an understanding of executive management. “For me, studying in Liechtenstein also means building up my relationship network in the border region of Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria and Germany,” he concluded in summary of his experiences.

The programme lasts four semesters and includes 32 presence blocks, with tuition fees amounting to CHF 26,400.00.
