Bachelor's degree programme in Architecture (01.09.2008)Description
- Designing with CAD in 2D and 3D (8 units)
- Visualization in 3D (8 units)
- Image editing (4 units)
- Desktop publishing and layout (4 units)
- Outlook: Representation, interaction and web design (4 units)
Lecture Goals
Based on the basic principles of CAD (computer-aided design) additional knowledge and skills are taught to help visualize and represent architecture and architectural concepts. The focus is placed on learning how to use various tools, techniques and media. The aim of the course is to promote students' ability to independently learn to apply different software products.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course each student should have the ability to demonstrate and/or work with:
- the ability to design and represent architectural scenarios in 3-D.
- the ability to use post-production software, to represent architectural concepts of designs as a high grade, post-processed image.
Lectures Method
Lecture with practical exercises performed on the computer
Admission Requirements
- Admission requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree program
Literature
Not specified
Exam Modalities
- Attendance 80%
- Final project to be handed in at the end of the semester
Assessment
The course has to be passed with a sufficient grade (minimum grade of 4.0).
The module grade will be determined from the weighted average of the single course grades:
History of Architecture 1 33%
Visual Arts 1 33%
CAD and Multimedia 33%
