On Thursday, 20 September 2012, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Buchs Centre for Career Development and Further Education, the BMC Establishment and the University of Liechtenstein’s Affiliated Institute SME Centre are holding the 3rd Export Marketplace at the SAL in Schaan, Liechtenstein.

The annual event serves as a platform for sharing information and experiences concerning international trade between companies, associations and government organizations. The aim of the event organizers, providers (the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, and the Sarganserland-Werdenberg region) and sponsors (the Liechtenstein Transport Industry – a section of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce) is to sustainably support the export-oriented SMEs and trade operations of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the region of Eastern Switzerland in their competitiveness. The combination of marketplace, forums and presentations offers the opportunity to get to know service providers in the field of international trade and to exchange experiences and establish new contacts with other organizations.

Forums with input from the industry
After the opening of the Export Marketplace by Dr. Martin Meyer, Liechtenstein’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Affairs, Armin Unternährer, CEO of the People’s AirGroupe , will give a presentation entitled “More men are beaten than fail” on the potential of the export market and having the courage to fail. In his presentation “Status of border customs offices CH–AT”, Wolfgang Hämmerle, Director at the Feldkirch Wolfurt customs office, reports on the daily challenge of keeping goods traffic moving between Switzerland and Austria. After a break and a visit to the marketplace, a practice-based report on Swiss Business Hubs as international contact points is next on the programme.
