SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ACADEMY FOR ARCHITECTS

The Erasmus+ Project “Social and Environmental Impact Academy for Architects” (SEIAA) is a collective project that takes place between 2020 and 2023 and includes research and teaching activities of four architectural schools across Europe: University of Liechtenstein (LI), Hasselt University (BE), Bergen School of Architecture (NO), and the Royal Danish Academy (DK). The project’s common framework are the 17 SDGs. Depending on the research focus, the teaching approach and the regional characteristics, each university focuses on specific goals. However, it is rather the general impact of and the interconnections between the SDGs than the single goals that are investigated. The overall objectives are:

  • to find more effective formats and settings to “teach” sustainability in architecture schools.
  • to create a dialogue among architecture faculties and cross-sector stakeholders from different fields.
  • to strengthen the responsibility and awareness of the participants regarding the creation of resilient communities through architectural investigations.
  • to scale the result of the developed project through cooperation’s with NGOs and local actors.
