University research is committed to principles of accuracy, importance, integrity, and engagement. Its theoretical, conceptual, or experimental approach is determined by the demand for truth, openness, transparency, and critical reflection on its own actions. University research is based on an unbiased problem awareness of social challenges. It aims to generate knowledge, initiate findings, and initiate changes towards a sustainable society. In particular, university research wants to have a long-term effect on society with its results, because it acts freely and feels socially responsible in its actions.
By law, research is a mandate of the university and contributes significantly to the university's international profile. The University of Liechtenstein is a research-led university. Basic and application-oriented research form the foundation for teaching, continuing education and knowledge transfer and aim to promote the next generation of academics.
