The library provides access to various electronic media such as e-books,
electronic journals and databases.
The use of licensed e-resources is available to members of the university
(employees and students) only.
Freely available e-resources can be accessed by all library users,
independent of the IP-range.
When using electronic media, which are are based on licensing agreements,
please note the following:
Access on the university network
Members of the University of Liechtenstein may access e-resources licensed by the library (e-journals, databases, e-books, etc.) on the university internal network.
Access for external library users is only possible at the PC workstation in the library reading room.
Some databases are excluded from access.
In any case, prior registration at the lending desk is required, where detailed information on access and use are available.
Access from outside the university network
Outside the university network, members of the university use Citrix VPN Client. Some databases also allow access via Shibboleth (SWITCHaii).
University students and employees may find more information and instructions here.
Accessing e-resources with password
The use of few databases requires a user ID and password. You will be redirected to the secure site (my.uni.li).
In these cases, external library users should contact the staff at the lending desk to ask if the desired document can be obtained .
Legal regulations
The library of the University of Liechtenstein concludes contracts and subscriptions with various providers for fee-based e-resources. These agreements specify the terms of use, which are based on the applicable copyright law.
In general, the following terms of use apply:
• Full texts may only be printed or downloaded for personal use and in the context of study, research or teaching. Any use for commercial purposes is prohibited.
Third party use is also uploading licensed content or data to external platforms, specifically ChatGPT or other AI platforms, where the storage and future use are determined
by third parties.
• Systematic downloading and copying (manually or by robots such as scraping, crawlers, scripts, etc.) of substantial parts of e-journal, e-book or

University.
• Passwords and other access data are confidential and must not be disclosed to third use parties.
• Furthermore, the IT guidelines of the University of Liechtenstein (German only), the Liechtenstein Copyright Act and the license agreements signed with the providers apply.
