Some information about the Lake Constance Arts & Science Association

The Lake Constance Arts & Science Association is a network of 25 universities in Germany, Lichtenstein, Switzerland and Austria. The institutions within the association’s international network collaborate to create new study programmes, support research and development in cooperation with regional businesses and improve the educational opportunities available in the entire region over the long-term.

Everyone profits from having the Lake Constance Arts & Science Association:

- The general population in the region benefits from having access to additional educational opportunities. The international cooperation among members also increases graduates’ chances of successfully finding their first job. Students can make contacts in the surrounding countries during their study and training. Both the desire to gain international experience as well as the desire to keep close contact with an existing social network can be satisfied almost entirely.

- Local businesses - they benefit from the university network. Highly skilled professionals are more likely to stay in the region after graduating instead of leaving. At the same time, specialised study programmes can react quickly and with great flexibility to changing educational needs.

- The universities - collaboration allows the member institutions to share each other’s existing infrastructure like labs or high-tech devices. Student and lecturer exchanges promote positive synergies and intercultural understanding.

«In contrast to most Erasmus students that are heading for a European metropolis, I decided to spend my Erasmus semester in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. It can be characterized by its spectacular scenery, local traditions and a wide range of international students Teaching methods at the University of Liechtenstein differed from the ones I was used to. For instance, in the design studio, students from all semesters worked together on the same topic. This allows younger students to learn from the more experienced ones. My studies and personal development got a great lift from my Erasmus exchange. It was an amazing cultural experience that was shared with people from all over the world!»

«For me, my exchange semester in Liechtenstein meant both great personal and academic growth. I instantly felt welcome in this beautiful country with its friendly people located in the alpine valley next to the river Rhine. Despite being a small country, Liechtenstein provides plenty of possibilities for big adventures and exciting experiences. The people in the student dormitories were like a second family to me, and I found many lifelong friends during my stay. Studying in University of Liechtenstein was interesting and the atmosphere was innovative as well as academically supporting. What I enjoyed the most was the combination of theory and practice in our studies which greatly supports the learning experience. I will forever remember my time in Liechtenstein fondly and truly wouldn’t change a thing even if I had the chance!»
