On 5 July 2012, six students from the Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich presented their seminar papers at the University of Liechtenstein, under the supervision of Professor Martin Wenz. The seminar in Tax Management was organized in the scope of a partnership between the two universities.
The seminar explored the implementation of the double taxation treaty between Liechtenstein and Germany. Students worked on topics related to residency and eligibility of natural and legal persons as well as German and Liechtenstein investment funds. Furthermore, the taxation of internationally active sole proprietorships and groups as well as the taxation of pension recipients and employees who are active across borders were subjected to an analysis according to tax law and tax management.
The seminar papers were prepared under the supervision of Simon Busch (LL. M.), from the Chair for Tax Management and the Laws of Liechtenstein and International Taxation at the University of Liechtenstein in Vaduz, and by Peter Listl (MSc), from the Institute for Tax Management at the Munich School of Management at LMU Munich. The final presentation of the papers was preceded by joint discussions, also in terms of structure, which were held at LMU Munich during the last few months.
