VADUZ – On Saturday, 18 May 2013, in dazzling sunshine, an excursion organized by the International Lake Constance University (IBH) took place.

Coordinated by the University of Liechtenstein, Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences and the NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik in Buchs, a group of around 90 students from around the world set out on an expedition through the medieval town of Werdenberg. Having explored this historic place, the students continued their journey to the birka bird paradise in Mauren. Lunch was provided with the help of skilled barbecue experts, in the midst of colourful landscapes.

Via the smugglers’ trail, through woods, meadows and lush green fields, the participants hiked through the Liechtenstein–Austrian border region towards Feldkirch, taking in the picturesque views of the Rhine Valley. The well-attended trip ended with a visit to the Schattenburg, where the students enjoyed apple strudel, coffee and each other’s company.

IBH university network

The IBH is a network of universities from the Lake Constance region, which aims to achieve synergies through cross-border cooperation. Day trips are organized on a regular basis, inviting registered, international students from the associated universities to participate. Visiting students from around the world can thus take advantage of the opportunity to gain insights into the cultural and scenic diversity of the Lake Constance region.
